DVA and it's members either host, sponsor and/or support the following events.
February 12-15, 2026 - Thursday thru Sunday. DVA supports the The Outdoor Show with archery demonstrations, lessons and allowing kids to practice shooting at paper and 3D targets.
Thursday: 4 p.m. - 8 p.m.; Friday: 10am - 7 p.m.: Saturday: 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.: and Sunday: 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.
August 1st, 2026 - Saturday, DVA sponsors the Big River Conservationists “Youth Day”. Starts at 9:00 AM to 3 PM (Check-in at 8:00 AM.) at the DVA Outdoor Range.
Events include archery instruction with an archery 3D competition, BB/Pellet gun shooting, Iowa DNR, Long Grove fire truck, arts & crafts, obstacle course, plus many games!!!
The Big River Conservationists (BRC) Inc. is a newly formed conservation group in the Iowa Illinois Quad Cities which is a subsidiary in itself. We are not affiliated with any national or international organization. We are a Federally registered 501(c) 3 non-profit organization. We were organized for the purpose of preserving our hunting legacy and establishing education, direction and promoting positive outdoor activities for our men, women and youth in our community, maintaining local interest in all facets of conservation and wildlife in Iowa & Illinois.
October 3, 2026 - Saturday, 8am at the Oak Hills Gun Club. DVA supports the BRC outdoor Women's Event with archery demonstrations and lessons.
BRC supports female-focused outdoor skills training programs through various organizations. Seeing the demand for such activities for women, the BRC expanded its outreach efforts to include a formal Outdoor Women's Event in the outdoors program.
